Western Region Forum Quarter 4
As the year progresses into summer break, the VBMA often finds itself taking a break to train new national officers and get ready for the fall. Summer is a great time to work on the clinical skills but also an excellent opportunity to find out more about the business side of a real practitioner. Some questions that could be considered are:
1. What is a practitioner looking for in a new graduate (both technical and business skills)?
2. How do I get the most out of my education and what can I do to improve?
3. What do you wish you learned about business in veterinary school that would have helped you to be the practitioner you are today?
These are just a few of the many questions you may want to consider asking practitioners while participating in internships this summer.
For this quarters prompt for the regional board, I would like to find out the answer to any of these questions to share the knowledge and wisdom of people in the profession OR if you could just share with the rest of the region a really exciting opportunity (internship or otherwise) you participated in that aided in your education and how others can do it in the future.
