VBMA and Elephant in the Room

The VBMA has been involved for the past two years with the Elephant in the Room Discussions on the national level. For those unfamiliar with these discussions, they are a series of meetings where veterinary practitioners, industry representatives, students, and business consultants come together and discuss the mounting problem of veterinary student debt. These interactive, collaborative events help educate attendees on the nature of the problem, as well as empower individuals to help solve the problem.

VBMA goes VIN

You can now find the VBMA message board on VIN. We already have a thread with over 38 posts to it.

Our goals on VIN are to:
1. Help increase awareness of VBMA with practitioners
2. Learn from practitioners in the field about how veterinary business plays out in real life and what we should learn in school to help us in the real world.

If you're a VIN-ner check out our message board under "Foundations and Associations" and add us to your favorites.

VPI Competition Coordinators Decided

Competition Coordinators have been decided and VBMA chapter officers across the country are currently hosting meetings telling their students about the great opportunity they have to win $1000 through the VPI-VBMA Student Case Competition.

To participate in the competition, students find a veterinary patient's invoice or estimate for treatment. They then use the VPI schedule of benefits to determine how much money that client would save if they had a VPI policy. This is put together in a presentation and submit to VPI through the local VBMA chapter’s competition coordinators.
